Woodland Yoga
Beginning Sunday 17th July and continuing on alternate Sundays for 4 weeks - 5pm -6.30pm- Flying Horse Lawn
An outdoor offering to celebrate summer. This will be a block of 4 classes which will run every other Sunday afternoon throughout July and August. The space is so beautiful and secluded with an option for shelter if the weather is rainy.
Each week we will gather for a 90 minutes practice. You can expect a fluid blend of movement and stillness with an ongoing theme centred around the Heart and the element of Fire.
The Heart craves space and connection which will be a thread woven through the 4 weeks. Embodying the spirit of Summer, we will acknowledge the Hearts tendency to be both joyous yet tranquil. This will be a nourishing practice with aromatherapy and self - massage to bring space and ease to your body during the summer months.
Week 1 - Expanding from the Heart
Week 2 - Spiral Heart
Week 3 - Ocean of the Heart
Week 4 - Spirited Heart
Option to join for the whole series which works out a little cheaper or alternatively join as and when you can. Booking is essential.
Leaning into Winter
Wed 12th January- 4 week course - 8pm - 9.15pm -Online
After the illumination of Christmas, January can feel long and dark. Join me for this 4 week seasonal course where we will take time to rest, reflect and lean into Winter. During this month of practice we will divert our attention from the intellect of brain to the wisdom of body. Noticing how relaxation might be the antidote to resistance. As we relax into the wisdom of the body we reconnect with our inherent capacity to be at ease as we accept darkness and honour our tiredness. Observing how winter feels in our bones and in our breath as we accept natures invitation to retreat and withdraw. During these sessions we will explore - Floor based movement, Acupressure and self massage, breath awareness, MyoFascial release, Yin yoga, Journalling and Meditation.
Five days of flow ~ Waking up to Autumn
Mon 1st November- Fri 5th November 7.45- 8.30am
For me, this time of year is about withdrawing and creating rituals. Finding wonderment in what could be seen as ordinary. This is something that we will explore in this Five day seasonal practice.
As the seasons change, we take the time to appreciate how we might be affected by the change of weather and the darker days. Autumn, through the lens of Chinese Medicine, is a time for slowing down, consolidating. As the days become cooler and darker it's time to take inspiration from nature as we embody the spirit of letting go and cosy in to prepare for winter.
Each day we will combine a blend of movement, stillness and breath work to nourish the lungs as we explore the element of Metal.
You will also receive a handout with some guidance on how to find nourishment during this seasonal transition.
Five days of flow ~ Transitioning with ease
Mon 13th September - Fri 17th September 7am - 7.45am
As summer starts to fade, we find ourselves heading towards September. I think of September as the liminal space between two extremes. Like the quiet stillness between the in breath and the out breath. The quiet suspension between day and night. In September the light becomes more golden and there’s a chill in the air, we begin to negotiate the seasonal transition between Summer and Autumn. This time of year is associated with the element of Earth which in Chinese Medicine facilitates smooth transitions. This supportive element is the axis which all of the other elements rotate around, an unchanging foundation, the very ground which we stand on and the inner compass which helps us to find our way forward. During periods of feeling unsettled it can be easy to become unfocused and lack direction, we can fall into unhealthy patterns of overthinking and worrying and the ritual of practice can be a helpful anchor.
I’m offering a sunrise daily practice to cultivate clarity of direction and embody Earths unwavering steadiness. We will explore intentional movement and breath. Seeking nourishment from the ground as we take time to really appreciate how a regular practice can remind us of who we are and what matters when things feel off balance and groundless.
