Woodland Yoga

Beginning Sunday 17th July and continuing on alternate Sundays for 4 weeks - 5pm -6.30pm- Flying Horse Lawn

An outdoor offering to celebrate summer. This will be a block of 4 classes which will run every other Sunday afternoon throughout July and August. The space is so beautiful and secluded with an option for shelter if the weather is rainy.

Each week we will gather for a 90 minutes practice. You can expect a fluid blend of movement and stillness with an ongoing theme centred around the Heart and the element of Fire.
The Heart craves space and connection which will be a thread woven through the 4 weeks. Embodying the spirit of Summer, we will acknowledge the Hearts tendency to be both joyous yet tranquil. This will be a nourishing practice with aromatherapy and self - massage to bring space and ease to your body during the summer months.

Week 1 - Expanding from the Heart
Week 2 - Spiral Heart
Week 3 - Ocean of the Heart
Week 4 - Spirited Heart

Option to join for the whole series which works out a little cheaper or alternatively join as and when you can. Booking is essential.

Leaning into Winter

Wed 12th January- 4 week course - 8pm - 9.15pm -Online

After the illumination of Christmas, January can feel long and dark. Join me for this 4 week seasonal course where we will take time to rest, reflect and lean into Winter. During this month of practice we will divert our attention from the intellect of brain to the wisdom of body. Noticing how relaxation might be the antidote to resistance. As we relax into the wisdom of the body we reconnect with our inherent capacity to be at ease as we accept darkness and honour our tiredness. Observing how winter feels in our bones and in our breath as we accept natures invitation to retreat and withdraw. During these sessions we will explore - Floor based movement, Acupressure and self massage, breath awareness, MyoFascial release, Yin yoga, Journalling and Meditation.

Five days of flow ~ Waking up to Autumn

Mon 1st November- Fri 5th November 7.45- 8.30am

For me, this time of year is about withdrawing and creating rituals. Finding wonderment in what could be seen as ordinary. This is something that we will explore in this Five day seasonal practice.
As the seasons change, we take the time to appreciate how we might be affected by the change of weather and the darker days. Autumn, through the lens of Chinese Medicine, is a time for slowing down, consolidating. As the days become cooler and darker it's time to take inspiration from nature as we embody the spirit of letting go and cosy in to prepare for winter.
Each day we will combine a blend of movement, stillness and breath work to nourish the lungs as we explore the element of Metal.
You will also receive a handout with some guidance on how to find nourishment during this seasonal transition.

Five days of flow ~ Transitioning with ease

Mon 13th September - Fri 17th September 7am - 7.45am

As summer starts to fade, we find ourselves heading towards September. I think of September as the liminal space between two extremes. Like the quiet stillness between the in breath and the out breath. The quiet suspension between day and night. In September the light becomes more golden and there’s a chill in the air, we begin to negotiate the seasonal transition between Summer and Autumn. This time of year is associated with the element of Earth which in Chinese Medicine facilitates smooth transitions. This supportive element is the axis which all of the other elements rotate around, an unchanging foundation, the very ground which we stand on and the inner compass which helps us to find our way forward. During periods of feeling unsettled it can be easy to become unfocused and lack direction, we can fall into unhealthy patterns of overthinking and worrying and the ritual of practice can be a helpful anchor.

I’m offering a sunrise daily practice to cultivate clarity of direction and embody Earths unwavering steadiness. We will explore intentional movement and breath. Seeking nourishment from the ground as we take time to really appreciate how a regular practice can remind us of who we are and what matters when things feel off balance and groundless.

Waking up to Spring

Waking up to Spring - Mon 15th March -Fri 19th March £20 6.45 am - 7.35am

The ritual of practice can feel really grounding during times of transition. So as we prepare to move into Spring, join me for five days of flow to celebrate the Spring equinox. After such a long Winter, nature is uncoiling, slowly emerging from the dark depths of stillness. In the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the season of Spring is associated with the element of Wood, which relates to growth, renewal, expansion and creativity. This is the perfect time to revisit goals, visions and intentions. Drawing inspiration from nature, we will practice together at sunrise, exploring energising movements with a playful undertone, as we shed the heaviness of Winter and make space for the vibrant spirit of Spring.

Calm yourself to sleep.

Beginning Wed 17th Feb - 8pm until 9.15pm £40

Stress and anxiety are probably something that we have all experienced at some point over the last year. Over long periods of time this can really drain the nervous system and disturb our sleep patterns. Sleep is crucial to our overall health, when we don’t get the sleep that we need, we can be more sensitive to life's challenges and we begin our day playing catch up.

Join me for this four week course where we will explore some calming self- soothing techniques to support our sleep. Over the course we will focus on breathwork, massage, mindful movement and meditation. After each session you will receive a short recording for the days in between our classes. This course will be a chance to repatten sleeping habits or simply an opportunity to relax and restore. All our welcome.

Seasonal Yin - Winter -

Sunday 31st January - Online - 2pm - 4.30pm

Join me for a cosy afternoon of Yin yoga as we explore the element of Water through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The element of water is associated with the kidneys, the kidneys themselves represent winter, hidden in the darkened fabric of the body, they hold the essence, the well of nourishment. In this practice we embody the spirit of slowing down, accepting nature's invitation to turn inwards, embracing the darkness as we prepare for the coming of Spring.

“In the heart of winter, spring is secretly at work. The beauty of nature insists on taking its time. Everything is prepared. Nothing is rushed. The rhythm of emergence is a gradual slow beat, always inching its way forward. Changes arrive in nature when time has ripened.”
