Touch

Massage is one of many ways to reconnect with a sense of self. When we are busy in our day to day lives, we can easily lose touch with the intuitive part of ourself that craves touch. The first of the senses to evolve, touch can take us on a journey back to ourself, it can be the bridge into our body, as tension dissolves we carve a pathway for release. Massage therapy supports the body’s natural healing process, stimulating blood flow and soothes the nervous system to support the body’s natural capacity to self-organise and recalibrate.

Stillness

In order to truly appreciate movement, we must know stillness. In a world where ‘being busy’ has become a modern day mantra, stillness has never been so important. Stillness is potent. When we surrender to stillness and consciously relax into a state of being, rather than doing, we can allow our body to catch up on its to do list. Stillness is a doorway in. As stillness flows through us, tension starts to melt away and speed evaporates from our body. Yin yoga is a multi-faceted practice which encapsulates the art of stillness. We relax into a pose and and as we bathe in stillness we fall into deeper dialogue with the inner body.

Movement

Movement has the powerful capacity to bring us back to ourself. Our body needs to move to stay supple and resilient. Movement is an invitation to be curious about the inner world beneath our skin and over time reveals the innate intelligence within us which is often taken for granted. In moving, we are reminded of this intimate relationship between body and mind, often considered to be separate entities, the body and mind are in constant communication and our yoga practice can amplify this connection. When we explore our body’s potential to move, we are exploring different expressions of ourself and in doing so movement becomes an effective way of getting to know yourself.
